Biography
The band MENTAL DEMISE was founeded in May of 1995 by Alexander (Fester) Andreychev (guitar/vocals). In 1997 the band released their first rehearsal demo, entitled "Utopia of Existence". At that time the line-up was the following: Fester (guitar/vocals), Tom Grinder (drums) & Toukan (bass). In July of 1997 Old (vocals) joins the band. The band starts working over the new material. The second studio demo – "Psycho-Penetration" – was recorded in February of 1998. Material included 9 songs in intense brutal death/grind, with conceptual psychological lyrics. The demo was released in a cassette format by "Moon records" label. Later "Psycho-Penetration" has experienced four reissues.
In March of 1998 second guitarist – Pinky – joins the band and together they perform 25 shows in various cities of Eastern Ukraine in support of "Psycho-Penetration". In spring of 2000 MENTAL DEMISE heading for "Vaginal suckers" studio to record new 3-song material - "Credo Quia Absurdum..?". During the studio session the bass-guitarist Toukan quits, immediately replaced by the session musician Sergey Vitkovsky. In 2001 "D.A.C. Productions" label released "Credo Quia Absurdum..?" as a split-CD with ukrainian band ENTRAILS PUTREFACTION. In November of 2001 this was followed by the mini-tour in Belorussia. That was the first time the band palyed with foreigners – death metal HATE (Pl).
In the fall of 2001 the band was joined by the new permanent bass-guitarist – Beast. MENTAL DEMISE played a set of gigs in a new stuff. Starting form 2001 the band annually takes part in organization of the biggest CIS metal-music festival RED ALERT OPEN AIR. Year 2002 finished accompanied by the sounds of the show of MENTAL DEMISE and death/grind monsters DAMNABLE. In April of 2003 MENTAL DEMISE for the first time took part in a foreign – Polish – tour "Grind De Pologne-2", with the brutal IMPERIAL FOETICIDE (Cz) and grind band EPITOME (Pl). In spring of 2004 the band was on tour in Belorussia, Russia and Ukraine as a support band for death metal band PUNGENT STENCH (Aus). In the fall of 2004 MENTAL DEMISE had a very successful 16-show tour "Grinding Incursion" through Ukraine, Belorussia and Moldova with death/grind band PARRICIDE (Pl).
In 2005 the band makes a self-record of the "Disgraceful Sores", which was immediately released by two labels: "Moral Isanity" (Belorussia) and American "Sevared Records". The album receives a good circulation in CIS as well as abroad. The band receives tons of propositions. In spring of 2005 the band makes a 12-show tour in Poland with PARRICIDE (Pl) and MINCING FURY... (Cz). In the fall of 2005 the band was invited to take part in several festivals, the most important of which are the following: "Merciless East" (Poland) with headlining PUNGENT STENCH (Aus), "Ludwigshafen Death Fest" (Germany) with NECROPHAGIST (Ger) and "Slovak Death Fest" with VITAL REMAINS (USA) headlining respectively.
In 2006 the band lived some bad times. The planned for the spring recording fall through. In a month the drummer Eugene "Tom Grinder" Shykarevsky left the band, and thus a 15-show tour in Russia had to be cancelled. The new drummer – Silver, who cardinally reinforced and intensified the band's music, joined the band in spring. In fact, due to Silver MENTAL DEMISE obtains a new face. Many stagnant criteria change. The bands starts rehearsals and live performance in a new stuff. In the fall of 2006 MENTAL DEMISE takes up a 13-show successful tour with the new drummer in Ukraine. In the spring of 2007 the band takes its way to Poland to record a processed material in Hertz studio. In the spring of 2007 returns form the studio with the material too raw for releasing it. The vocalist Alexander "Old" Poliakov is kicked out right during the record session. The album's release was delayed again for the uncertain period of time. The band starts searching new vocalist. It doesn't take much time and Sadist joins the band. MENTAL DEMISE starts rehearsing and at the end of the spring goes on tour to Russia, where it with dignity represents Ukraine for the Russian fans of the speedy Death Metal. MENTAL DEMISE's new album "Final Step To Future Madness" has been released by Xtreem Music 1st of February, 2009. The style of the band can be characterized nowadays as an aggressive speedy Florida wave Death Metal. There's an 8-show tour through Ukraine and Moldova planned for the beginning of the December. The band is strong and apt for action.
