28.04.2003, "Death Metal party", club "STARUSHKA"
It was great. I have no words to describe how glad we were. At last the sound was normal and therefore it was possible to hear all of the instruments on the stage. As usual the concert didn't start at 18.00 because of the very important sound engineer. It all begun at 18.50 or somewhere near it. There were four bands: three native ones and our guests - Mental Demise.
As for our performance I daresay it was not too great. We played our old program (just four songs) with Armen for the last time. He decided to leave the band. Reasons? He has his own doom project where he can play what he wants to. I knew that sooner or later it would happen. He simply didn't have enough guts to play with us. Our songs sounded well but (only we know it) the atmosphere inside the band was rotten to the core. Armen simply didn't care anymore about our music and we didn't care about him. So it was like a band of three men playing together with a guy who plays here because he has to. But it's our problem.
And now about the concert:
Dusk Dominion. Guys are my friends, they play a very interesting music and their abilities grow with every concert. They were first but sounded great. The songs were exuding evil and misanthropy. Reception from the crowd was great too.
Dogma. I have already said all about them.
Ambivalence. Much better that the last time we played together. They did their job well and prepared the crowd for
Mental Demise. Very brutal guys. Their music killed all life around the hall. At first it was pleasant to hear them and then we had a very nice chat. Great guys. Much for our musicians to learn. They simply didn't sound well during the soundcheck, but the performance was great. Image decided a lot in it because they really did fit. Some songs from "Psycho-Penetration" plus new ones equals a good performance.
The funniest thing about it all was the fact that the guests had to help the stagemen to carry some chairs to the other room - a wonderfull reception. As for their impressions about our bands I think the face of their vocalist told all about it. He was more than surprised, believe me. And as for me he didn't sound too great. He said he caught cold, but his voice needs a serious training.
As for the public there were about 100 men but only the tenth part of them was active. The others were simply too drunk yesterday (some of them even today) to make some positive support of the concert.
In general all was great but again no fucking money after the concert! Simply it was not a proper day to organize something that big...
